Blue Cloak Among Leaves

For waiting out a sudden rain inside the hollow of a great trunk. The hem of the blue cloak grows heavy; you crouch to wring it out and count the drops striking the leaves. A wire-strung harp lowers four notes gently, then opens into a soft answering phrase. The low wooden flute and viola don't keep the rain away — they wait in the same hollow with you. The lifted brightness of F Lydian hints at light still hiding behind the grey. The quiet gaps inside the piece feel like the moments the rain eases.
